Project Info

This project was completed during a brand design course, where the goal was to create a brand identity for a fictional short film festival at my art school, HBKSaar. My team chose a playful penguin as the central element and named the festival the "Pink Penguin Short Film Festival." Although these designs were not put into production, I consider this project a fun and engaging showcase of our creative teamwork.

P.S.: What you see here is the revised version, building on the earlier collaboration with Yuanyu Lin.

Background story

Once upon a time, a curious penguin stumbled upon a mysterious pink chip bag. Out of curiosity, it hopped inside, and—whoosh!—found itself in a strange world where everything was made of snacks. And that’s how the wonderful adventure began.

Snacks x Penguin

Based on the story, we used snack shapes as design elements: popcorns, potato chips, corn chips, bugles, and snack sticks. They not only make up the whimsical snack world but also represent the delicious snacks you long for during a movie—perfect symbols for a film festival!

The snack elements can also be found in the collage-style design, showing how our little penguin playing with snacks in this tasty world. These graphics will also be used as giveaway stickers for our festival visitors.

Penguin x Film Festival

Where's the penguin now? Well, it could be anywhere—since snacks are everywhere! You might spot it on a bracelet ticket, a popcorn basket, a tote bag, or anywhere else. There’s no fixed pattern for it; the design can literally vary every time. After all, our little penguin is always eager to try something new and fresh in the snack world.

On the outside wall of the art school? Sure. Showing up on the underground? Why not. That's how ambitious we are 🐧

(And of course, we're also on social media)
